Tyrolian Tours - Ski & Play

Traditional winter holidays in Tirol - Austria.

Tyrolian Tours have been serving English speaking clients since 1962, primarily those from the United States who are living and working abroad but also Americans who live in the U.S., as well as other English speakers from throughout the world.

Tyrolian Tours pride themselves on offering excellent personal service – for instance arranging hotel or condominium reservations and organizing ski lessons, equipment rental plus related winter sports activities for the family to enjoy in the beautiful Tyrol region of the Austrian Alps.

Tyrol is in the center of the finest ski area in Austria. You can ski all day up and down from one mountain to another following the "Ski Safari" at Kitzbühel, or take your time at St. Johann, resting between runs at the many restaurants and "icebars" located on the mountain. Unlike many ski areas elsewhere, you will find many of the restaurants on the mountains are family owned and operated. The food is always excellent and the beer is outstanding, as are the many local drinks.

The Schneewinkel ski area includes Kirchdorf, Erpfendorf, Waidring-Steinplatte, St.Johann - Oberndorf - Eichenhof, Fieberbrunn, St.Ulrich & St.Jakob, a total of 54 lifts, and 167 km (approximately 104 miles) of ski runs.

The Kitzbüheler Alpen ski area includes the areas of the Schneewinkel PLUS Kitzbühel, Kirchberg, Jochberg, Pass Thurn, ski areas of Ski Welt/Wilder Kaiser, Wildschönau & Alpbachtal PLUS now also includes Leogang, Saalbach, Zell am See and the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier, a total of 357 lifts.

Kaprun – Kitzsteinhorn

Kaprun village is situated at the foot of the Kitzsteinhorn glacier (near Zell am See), a year round ski vacation paradise - especially for those who appreciate an active sports vacation and for those who long for recreation in an untouched area. The village offers the attractive recreation center 'Optimum' and numerous other sports activities. Ski school, ski kindergarten and ski rental shops are conveniently located. The new ‘Gletscher Jet’ takes you up to the glacier (3000 m) and opens up a wide area of well prepared slopes. It is ideal for 'jetters' and for those who would like to get that desirable glacier tan. The glacier is perfect for fast downhill racing, practising on soft slopes, or carving your own tracks in the fresh virgin snow. Contact Tyrolian Tours for more information.

Both ski kindergarten and ski school for children include a ski race on Friday followed by an awards party for all the children. Children will learn to ski quickly, in a safe and fun environment! There is a nursery in Kirchdorf for infants six months of age and older. Infants should be pre-booked for the nursery – notification prior arrival is necessary.

Snow Activities apart from Skiing and Boarding

When the ski lifts have closed, or if you are looking for something different, there are plenty of additional activities available to keep you entertained. Ask your friendly tour guide for more information when you arrive. Here are a few ideas to get you started.

Tobogganing - Take a traditional wooden toboggan down a purpose-built toboggan run. Whether you are taken to the top of the run by a chairlift or by a tractor, the ride up is almost as exciting as the ride down!
Horse-Drawn Sleigh Rides - A sleigh ride through the beautiful Tyrolian winter landscape is a magical experience. Snuggle up under a cozy blanket and enjoy the jingling bells.
Ski Show - Join the ski and snowboard instructors as they demonstrate their abilities and teamwork on snow. Accompanied by lights and sound, this is a spectacular event not to be missed!
Snowshoe Walking - There's more to snow than just being able to ski down it. Why not put on some snowshoes and take a guided walk through the area? Or perhaps you can climb a mountain to enjoy a beautiful view or a Gluhhein when you reach the top!
Ice Skating - enjoy gliding over the ice at local ice rinks.
