The 47th Annual Homburg May Festival

Friday May 26 to Monday May 29 – 2023

This year’s traditional Homburg May Festival will take place over the last weekend at the end of May – which the organisers hope will guarantee good weather. This year’s festival will offer four days of fun for the whole family.

Four days long –
A whole host of events

Maifest-2023On Friday, May 26, Mayor Michael Forster will open the festival. In the city center, a wide variety of food and beverage stands will provide for the visitors physical well-being. As in previous years there will be a market in the Talstraße and in the St.-Michael-Strasse, the younger visitors will get their money’s worth. On Whitsunday, three machine creatures will make the city center unsafe as a walking act. For the open-air concerts, three stages are available again this year: Stage 1 on the Hist. Marktplatz, Stage 2 on the Christian-Weber-Platz as well as the rock stage at the Rondell.

The music program has it all:
On Friday evening, the band “Changes” will heat up the opening on the market square. On Christian-Weber-Platz, the party band “Goodbeats” will present rock, pop, funk and soul at its best with their energetic performance. On the rock stage, cool glam rock from the seventies is on the program with the Wiesbaden band “Coverkidzz“.

Saturday starts musically in the early afternoon. On the market square, among others, the top cover band “The Beavers” will start the day, at the Rondell rock tube Vanja Sky will perform with her band, while on the Christian Weber Square Thomas Godoj will ensure as a top act for powerful atmosphere.

On Sunday at noon, Christian-Weber-Platz traditionally belongs to the line dancers, who will get moving to the sound of the Jim Everett Band. Finally, the “Hüttenrocker” will heat it up. On this evening, the marketplace belongs to the “Wonderfrolleins” who, in their petticoat outfit, sweep through the German economic miracle of the 50s and early 60s in their usual professional manner. After the power rock band “New Screamers“, “Reckless” will make a stop at the Rondell. The Brian Adams tribute band delivers all the master’s hits with impressive stage presence.

On Whit Monday, “Take Five” will play on the market square to close out the festival, while rock classics are on the program with “Back to the Roots” on Christian-Weber-Platz. For the interpretation of great rock and metal songs in folk garb, stands the trio “Mandowar“, which provides at the end on the rock stage with a good pinch of humor for the best mood.

The organization team of the Homburger Kulturgesellschaft will ensure that everything runs smoothly throughout the entire duration of the festival. Since serving beer in glasses is prohibited all beer stands will again offer reusable beer cups. In this way, organizers and visitors are making an active contribution to protecting the environment instead of using disposable cups. With the one-time cup fee of €2,00, each guest makes a small contribution to the counter-financing of the admission-free event, whose continuation in times of reorganization budget and tight coffers would be uncertain without the achievement of additional income in this order of magnitude.
