Freizeit-Land Geiselwind

A "Must Do" for the Adventurous - If you’re looking for fun and adventure then Freizeit-Land Geiselwind is the place to be!
Season start April 6. 2012

With its more than 100 rides and attractions, Freizeit-Land Geiselwind is Bavaria’s leading amusement park. It's big - covering an area of over 400,000 square meters (478,396 square yards) and it's one of the most popular family destinations in Southern Germany.

Games, excitement & fun . . .

... there’s something for everyone at Geiselwind, exactly the right thing, whatever your age: action and adventure for cool kids and grown ups; a children's zoo where the very small will enjoy petting the animals; an aviary where exotic birds can fly free, flamingo and stork meadows, a pheasant run, vultures and owls for bird lovers; and great shows for the whole family.

This year’s shows include:

Acapulco-Springer-Show - a daring and spectacular high diving show - featuring award-winning divers whose show includes a mix of perfect, dare-devil acrobatic dives - both solo and formation dives - as well as infectious comedy; and then there’s a traditional circus with top artists, dressage riders, side-splittingly funny clowning around - guaranteed to put the whole family in a good mood.

Maximum thrills guaranteed - T-Rex Tower - Whoosh!

You need strong nerves to ride on the T-Rex Free-fall tower. 59 meters (approximately 194 feet) to the top, and then a free fall down ... and back up again ... and down again. The T-Rex Tower promises controlled drops, unexpected bounces and extraordinary yo-yo effects thanks to abrupt changes in speed, acceleration and direction. The result is unprecedented heart-throbbing, sweating and adrenaline rushes.

The Boomerang

This ride is sheer adrenaline. The Boomerang is Germany’s only looping roller coaster - a hydraulic drive pulls the bright red train carriages backwards and up to a 115 ft high launching pad from which the train is released at nearly 47 mph ... to ride headlong into the boomerang, looping the loop twice then through another loop and up the second hill. It’s loads of fun for those who love dare-devil action.

Dinosaur Land and Dragon Express

Those who prefer more gentle pleasures, or families with young children, will enjoy attractions such as Ikarus - a mini, much gentler version of the T-Rex Free-fall tower; or riding on one of the merry-go-rounds such as the old-fashioned Nostalgie-Karussell with its organ music and classic fairground animals; or the Schwanbootfahrt - boats in the shape of a swan; the Power Paddle paddle boats ... and many more.

Dinosaur Land is a special highlight for younger children, with its life-sized figures of dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals which children are allowed to touch and even climb on. And you can learn more about prehistoric times by taking the Dragon Express - a miniature train powered by a green dragon which rides round Dinosaur Land.

Enjoy - Bavarian-style

If you’d like to sample a “Taste of Bavaria” - first go up to the top of the 95 meter (more than 310 ft) Top of the World outlook tower - it’s so tall, it’s in the Guiness Book of World Records as the world's tallest transportable observation wheel. From the top of the tower, enjoy the impressive panorama - you will see not only the entire Geiselwind park spread out below, but also the surrounding Steigerwald (Steiger Forest). And then to experience the traditional “Oktoberfest” atmosphere, visit the beer tent Bavaria with its rustic beer garden and traditional Bavarian food such as Leberkäse (traditional meat loaf) and golden brown pretzels, crispy chicken and crispy pork knuckles fresh from the grill.
