Summer, Sun, Leisure and Fun

Refreshing breaks at Europa-Park

When temperatures peak and rise above the 30-degree mark, visitors to Germany's largest theme park look forward to airy rollercoaster rides and cooling water attractions. Additionally, in summer, visitors of all ages will be thrilled by the redesigned French themed area featuring multiple highlights. Rousing concerts, exciting parties, fascinating theme festivals, and many other events will sparkle across Europa-Park during its warmest season, providing the best holiday feeling. More than 100 attractions and shows guarantee that the whole family get their money's worth. However, if one day is not enough, the unique adventure can be extended at one of the five park-owned 4* hotels or at the Europa-Park Camp Resort.

La France est belle

After extensive modernisation, the French themed area shines with a new splendour for the summer. The bright silver sphere of the Eurosat - CanCan Coaster captivates visitors even from afar. At the entrance area, traditional Parisian architecture, including an original replica of the ‘Moulin Rouge’ variety theatre, will put visitors in the fascinating belle époque of the capital. But it is not just here that the landmark of the Grand Nation will surprise all with a fresh face; inside, passengers can embark on an entirely unexpected ride experience. The spectacular innovation combines two attractions in one: either a classic exciting rollercoaster ride in the dark with the Eurosat - CanCan Coaster or an innovative, futuristic VR experience with Eurosat Coastiality. Regardless of which route the visitors choose, an adventure that is unique worldwide awaits them! Next door, Madame Freudenreich Curiosités takes visitors into the grey past. In the House of Dinosaur Fans there are plenty of relics of the former giants to discover. On the floating bistro boat Liberté, visitors of all sizes can recharge their batteries after the action and excitement and watch a captivating water fountain show that runs several times an hour to French music.

Fascination with Europe

In the heart of the border triangle, Europa-Park delights all with over 100 attractions and shows. In 15 lovingly-designed, European themed areas visitors can not only experience fun and variety, but also discover traditional architecture, gastronomy, and greenery. 13 spectacular rollercoasters, such as the 73 meter high Silver Star or the 100 km/h fast WODAN-Timburcoaster, give adrenaline fans a rush of fresh summer wind. On especially hot days, the numerous water attractions are also very popular. In Portugal, Atlantica SuperSplash is a rapid drop from a height of 30 metres straight into the cool water. The family-friendly Tirol Log Flume in Austria, as well as the lively Fjord Rafting in the Scandinavian theme area, also provide a wonderful way to cool off. The attractions Lítill Island - Hansgrohe Children's Water World in Iceland and Paul's Playboat in Ireland - Children's World are beloved by smaller guests.

With more than 23 hours of daily entertainment, Europa-Park is the largest entertainment park in the world. In the shadow of the Spanish Arena, visitors can enjoy a performance of The Black Prince. In the cool Europa-Park Teatro in the Italian themed area, Rulantica - The Musical awaits. The new production gives a taste of the upcoming water world at Europa-Park and tells the moving story about the discovery of Rulantica and the power of true love. With Times - The Show, the audience at the Globe Theatre in the English themed area can also look forward to an incredible acrobatic journey through time, from Shakespeare to Sherlock Holmes to the modern day. Particularly pleasant temperatures can also be found at the Ice Stadium in the Greek themed area, where the new show Paddington on Ice - The Marmalade Mission, featuring the cuddly bear, provides the best entertainment.

In addition, more than 200 caravan parking spaces are available for those who would like to spend the night in their own home on four wheels.

Year-Round Leisure

For over ten years, Europa-Park has adapted itself beautifully to each of the changing seasons.

Spring is marked by new attractions and shows while the summer months promise refreshing aquatic attractions.

In autumn, over 180,000 pumpkins and dark delights give the park its quintessential spooky feeling.

At its winter opening, Europe’s most famous theme park turns into a winter wonderland filled with thousands of Christmas trees, holiday lights, wintry attractions, and a special Christmas show programme.

Europa-Park: A success story

The development of Europa-Park is a success story. The workshops of Waldkirch were already famous in the eighteenth century for their skills in cart building. In 1870 the jump was made to circus car and carrousel building. By 1915 the company Mack Rides was already “purveyor to the court” of Circus Krone; 1921 saw the delivery of the first roller coaster. From 1930, the family business specialised in circus trucks, carrousels, ghost trains and roller coasters. In 1951 the company Mack built the first bobsleigh run out of wood; only a year later, the company took the plunge into business in the United States of America. Under the leadership of Franz Mack, the company went global.

The entrance into the theme park business happened in 1975 with the founding of Europa-Park in Rust, at first as a sort of “display window” for the in-house products. Under the leadership of Franz Mack and his sons, Roland and Jürgen, there was an optimal combination of parks, entertainment, culture and the thrill of fun rides.

Today, the family business which settled in Rust has now been recognized as the best theme park in the world. With more than 3,500 employees, Europa-Park is without a doubt the biggest employer in the region. In 2014 the park managed a phenomenal record by receiving its 100 millionth visitor.

Europa-Park will be open the summer season 2018 from 24 March to 4 November daily, from 09:00 to 18:00 (longer opening hours during the peak season).
