Unfiltered, naturally cloudy Casteler beer is brewed according to the German Reinheitsgebot (purity law) dating from 1516 which requires that only specific ingredients may be included. Water from a local source in the Taunus, the best malt and Tettnanger Hops give Casteler beer a very special and much-appreciated taste.
Restaurant and private party rooms with good traditional food
A typical Bavarian restaurant with rustic decor and room for up to 150 guests. Good German cooking including regional specialties as well as Bavarian delicacies such as Weisswurst - the typical white sausage, knuckle of pork, or crispy roast pork. There’s a separate room, the Bierstüberl, for private parties of up to 25 people as well as another party room for groups of up to 90 people.
The large, sunny beer garden surrounded by green plants has ample space for up to 400 people. When the weather is fine, steaks and Bratwurst are barbecued on an open charcoal grill. There’s also a children’s play area with a slide and a rocking horse.
Idyllic covered terrace with heating for less sunny days which can also be hired for events such as weddings - up to 90 guests.

Sundays and German holidays 10.00 - 12:00. Served in the upper gallery of the restaurant or on the terrace in summer.
Brauhaus Castel celebrated its 23rd Anniversary on 28 August 2013
Brauhaus Castel was founded in 1990 by Dieter Budecker. The idea was to create a typical authentic Bavarian Brauhaus - a restaurant with its own brewery: a cozy, friendly atmosphere, rustic wooden furniture, a large beer garden, good German cooking - and of course beer brewed on the premises.
The Sonne family from Frankfurt took over in March 2001 and added their personal finishing touches.
Traditional Bavarian-style beer festivals such as Märzenbieranstich, Maibockanstich and Oktoberfest, seasonal beers, daily menu specials as well as events with brass band and dancing mean there is always a good reason to visit Brauhaus Castel.
